Launch of Anterior Head Support

Buchanan Orthotics has announced the official launch of the Anterior Head Support. This innovative collar is designed specifically to provide enhanced stability for patients with complex head-positioning needs, such as those with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) or Cerbral palsy (CP)

The collar model joins Buchanan’s extensive portfolio of paediatric and adult supports, offering a critical alternative for clinicians and caregivers managing conditions that affect head control and midline positioning.

Key Features and Patient Benefits

The Anterior Head Support is engineered to balance firm structural support with the high levels of comfort required for daily use.

  • Targeted Chin Support: The reinforced closed front provides a gentle but firm lifting action to combat anterior head tilt (chin drop), helping to keep the eyes level with the visual environment.
  • Lateral Stability: Reinforced sides offer additional support to prevent the head from tilting to either side, promoting better spinal alignment.
  • Superior Comfort: The device features a cushioned roll around the rear strap to eliminate pressure points at the back of the head.
  • Hygienic Design: Each support is made from vinyl-coated foam in "Casa Tan" and includes soft, washable cloth covers in a standard blue finish.

To ensure an optimal fit, Buchanan Orthotics offers the Anterior Head Support in four distinct sizes. Proper sizing is determined by a combination of neck circumference and the distance from the shoulder to the bottom of the ear.
